Wellington Shire septic requirements
Wellington Shire Council requires all onsite wastewater systems to be registered and regularly maintained. If your property has a septic tank, it should be pumped every 3–5 years. AWTS units require quarterly servicing by an approved technician. Council conducts periodic audits and may issue notices if systems are not maintained.
