What happens during a pump out

Our technician locates and uncovers your tank lid, inspects the sludge and scum levels, then uses a high-capacity vacuum truck to remove all contents. We check for any visible damage to the tank or baffles and let you know if anything needs attention. The waste is transported to a licensed EPA-approved treatment facility.

When to book a pump out

EPA Victoria recommends septic tanks are pumped every 3 to 5 years for a standard household. You may need more frequent service if you have a larger family, use a garbage disposal unit, or notice any of these warning signs:

• Drains are slow throughout the house
• Gurgling sounds from pipes or toilets
• Sewage smell near the tank or drain field
• Soggy or unusually green patches of grass above the drain field
• Sewage backing up into sinks, showers, or toilets
